USDA Michigan Crop Progress & Condition Report For The Week Ending November 26, 2017

There were 4.2 days suitable for fieldwork in Michigan during the week ending November 26, 2017 according to Marlo Johnson, Director of the Great Lakes Regional Office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service. The week was accompanied by variable temperatures, high winds, and generally more favorable fieldwork conditions. However, wet fields forced some producers to wait until the ground freezes to finish harvest activities.

A few dry days allowed corn for grain and soybean harvest to continue, but soggy field conditions limited progress in some areas.

Winter wheat was rated in mostly good condition, but excessive water damaged the crop in some locations. Other activities during the week included leaf raking, machinery repair, fall tillage, trimming trees, and yearend record keeping
